I visited at night while craving something sweet, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Bubur Ketan Hitam Spesial with ice cream on top, and it was absolutely delicious. I’ve never had this kind of bubur ketan hitam anywhere else—it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I also tried Es Bruno, which was just as tasty and refreshing. The place itself isn’t very spacious, and it was a bit crowded when I visited, but that just shows how popular it is.

I tried the bubur ayam and ketan hitam with one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Both were nice, but I personally prefer the ketan hitam—it was more enjoyable for my taste. The place is compact with both indoor and outdoor seating. I prefer sitting outside because the indoor area feels quite hot since there’s no AC. A funny thing happened when I ordered teh tawar hangat, the taste reminded me of minyak telon, which was quite unexpected but made the visit memorable.

The food is very good. There is a long queue for breakfast, but it was worth the wait. Must try if you stay in Jogja and are looking for breakfast options

A modern porridge shop in town! Bubur Hayam Kotabaru mainly sells two types of porridge: chicken porridge and black sticky rice porridge. The chicken porridge can come with egg and/or chicken liver and gizzard (rempelo ati). It is served dry without broth and vegetables, but you can add broth from one of the bottles (didn't figure this out until my second visit!) and add vegetable toppings from the canisters on the table. Might not be the best chicken porridge in town, but it tastes ok with a generous portion. Meanwhile, the black sticky rice porridge is delicious! Served with chunks of mango and vanilla ice cream instead of coconut milk, the porridge is not too sweet. Just right for your dessert! For the location, it is easy to find with quite easy parking. The seating plan is not too big though, so it is almost always packed. Overall, relatively cheap and recommended!

When I came here, it turned out there was a queue to eat at the place. the place is not big and the atmosphere is quite hot. but the waiting time for the food is not too long. So far I like the food here, especially the porridge and banana rolls. I recommend coming here in the morning.
